About the artist

I was born in Denmark, and have been drawing and painting since early youth.
My original artistic training was at the Copenhagen School of Fashion as a stage costume and fashion designer. I also worked at the Royal Opera House, and other theatres in Copenhagen.
I have lived in Germany and France, where I had my own fashion brand, before moving to Italy in 2000, where I decided to devote myself full-time to painting... a decision I have never regretted.

My many travels and contacts with ethnic art in Asian contexts have given me an inexhaustible source of ideas and inspirations. Among the regions I visited have been the Middle East, Iran, India, Central Asia and China. I found many of the artistic achievements I saw visually thrilling.

I hope that the my paintings convey to the modern viewer something of the visual stimulation and excitement that I feel when I create a new work.

Biografia dell'artista

Sona nata in Danimarca, e fin dagli albori ho disegnato e dipinto.
La mia formazione artistica si afferma presso la Scuola di Moda a Copenhagen, dove ho studiato come stilista di moda e disegnatrice di costumi teatrali. Ho anche lavorato al Teatro Reale d'Opera, e per altri teatri a Copenaghen.
Ho poi vissuto in Germania e Francia dove ho avuto un mio fashion brand personale e ho partecipato a varie sfilate di moda prima di trasferirmi in Italia nel 2000, dove ho deciso di dedicarmi a tempo pieno alla pittura; una decisione che non ho mai rimpianto.

I miei numerosi viaggi e contatti con arti etniche in contesti asiatici mi hanno dato inesauribili spunti di idee e di ispirazioni. Ho viaggiato in Medio Oriente, Iran, India, Asia Centrale e Cina luoghi la cui espressività artistica è molto coinvolgente.

Spero che le mie opere trasmettano allo spettatore di oggi almeno in parte gli stimoli visivi che provo quando creo un nuovo dipinto.
